The song "Whitey On The Moon" by Gil Scott Heron is about how bad they had it where they were living and how instead of helping them, the governent sends the first white man onto the moon. Funny how they advance in technology instead of helping the reest of humanity out first eh?

The advancement in technology (especially in Outer Space Explorations) has helped the rest of humanity immensely. The technologies developed mostly by scientist from NASA are being used right now in our everyday lives. The two biggest accomplishment would probably be nanotechnology and the advancement in biomedical science. Both of these technologies have helped save many lives and maybe even prolong many. Without these technolgies, our lives would be completely different. We may not even have computers , cellphones or t.v.s now if it wasnt for the space frontier.
