Hip Hop In It's Essence And Real

This blog is basically going to be a place where we write about music, shoes, basketball, and pretty much anything that we think is good for the Soul. We'll post videos and post little descriptions.

We'll start this off by adding two videos, our favourite songs and a brief description.

T.R.O.Y(They Reminice Over You)

This song right here, is what got me started on all this real shit. It's what started me on old school hip-hop, and just hip-hop in the way that it's supposed to be heard. Straight up, the lyrics aren't nuts, but the way that C.L. delivers them has a ring to it. He didn't kill it with slang, or wack accents. The dude just sang. Pete Rock's mix in this just makes the song perfect. The beat is mellow, but it stays hip-hop at the same time.

I Used To Love H.E.R

This is my favourite song because it tells the history of hip-hop and how it's gone off track, and maybe even died. This song pretty much tells why "rap" is so wack and, to me, every line was fire.
